Rome Typography Workshop
During my time studying at Temple University Rome, I participated in the Rome Collaborative Design Workshop | Type in Rome, where I had the opportunity to visit various historical sites and exhibitions. Throughout the six-week course, we incorporated the typography we encountered into our projects and explored new features and software in Adobe. By utilizing tools such as Adobe's 3D builder in Illustrator, Adobe Substance Stager, and the Augmented Reality beta app Aero, we were able to create an Augmented Reality exhibition that was inspired by our experiences abroad. My travels throughout Italy inspired me with different versions of typography, some traditional and others more modern.

The typography that truly captivated me was the vibrant and daring graffiti that adorned the streets and buildings of Rome and throughout the country. The use of street art created a striking contrast against the backdrop of the ancient stone architecture and marble statues. While exploring the Colosseum, I was taken aback by the audacity of those who etched their names onto the structure's centuries-old stones. It forced me to contemplate the tension between the modern and the historic. The art of the creators who had long since passed still stood strong, while contemporary artists and visitors added their own personal touch to the timeless pieces. This realization led me to ponder the Latin saying, "Ars Longa, Vita Brevis", which translates to "Art is long, life is short".
